![]() Would taping for a day or two in the middle/at the end of my work week actually be better for my body than binding? Is taping actually any safer? What is your guys experience? Since transtape is relatively newer it’s hard to find much about this online. I’m more concerned with putting less strain on my ribs and back. I know tape can be worse as far as skin elasticity goes, but with the size of my chest I wouldn’t qualify for keyhole or peri anyways. While it is safer to use, trans tape can. You can buy it online from different vendors like transtape.life and GenderBender. Trans tape is made from materials that are safe for the body, is sweat resistant and waterproof, and is available in multiple skin tones. However, I ordered a hoodie that is within dress code, and I think with that I could probably get away with just taping. A great alternative is using trans tape, a tape specially made for binding. Gently lay the first 2 inches of tape on your skin and lightly rub to activate the adhesive. Push your chest tissue down and back with your hand as you apply the tape. My chest would be a C cup, so since there isn’t as much compression with the tape, I wouldn’t want it for every day use. Create a handle by folding the first half of the protective paper back and leaving half on the tape so that you don’t touch the sticky part. It’s a lot better than binding imo- you can shower with it (takes a while to dry though), play sports in it, wear it in warmer weather, and it feels a lot more natural being able to just wake up and throw a t-shirt on feels amazing. Ensure that the ends of the trans tape have about 5mm of skin contact. Watch lots of youtube tutorials, especially those on the transtape youtube channel TransTape. Stretching will prevent straining the skin. Stretch the middle part of the tape over the skin. I recently found out that TransTape can also bind ur chest nicer but im not sure if its for minors : ( I would just like to ask if its okay for a 14 year old to use TransTape to bind or the minimum. Keep both edges of the trans tape slack when applying. Im 14 and last year i found out im trans so i secretly bought a binder, it worked for a while but then it just became irritating and just uncomfy. I’ve seen a lot about transtape recently, and I was thinking about trying it out. Then, use surgical tape to hold them in place. With that being said, I’m trying to figure out some other ways to give my chest a bit of a break. Even with taking my breaks, I have noticed that by the last few days of this stretch, I have been experiencing some mild back pain. With the way my schedule is set up for this new position though, every other week I have a six day stretch without a day off. ![]() I have been trying to take my binder off during my lunch if I start to get uncomfortable, as well as taking it off for the drive home. You guys had a lot of helpful advice, and I really appreciate it. However, I would actually rather die than go to work without my binder. I just started a new job where I am working 8.5 hour days with a 45 minute commute, meaning when I bind I have to bind for 10+ hours at least. So I made a post a few weeks ago about binding with a full time job.
